Hi everyone! All set for the holiday?
I’m doing okay, have some wrapping to finish up but the shopping is done. Like I said before, kept it simple when it came to gift giving this year. Haven’t gotten to the wrapping yet because I’ve been pretty sick (nothing serious, just personal and painful) but I’m on the mend, I think! Never ignore any pain or discomfort – always trust your instinct. I ignored the pain I was in for so long and it turns out I had something that really needed to be addressed or I’d need a surgical procedure. Hoping that we caught it in time, and so far so good.
Since I haven’t worn anything besides pajamas over the last few days I haven’t necessarily had outfits to share, but I did do a couple of flat lays to talk about the clothes and accessories that I’m really excited about lately. I posted them on my Instagram, but thought I’d share a bit more with you here!
I had been on the waitlist for this Slumlove sweater for a few weeks. In retrospect it runs a little big so I probably could have gone for the extra small, but it is nice that I have the length to tuck it in or wear it with leggings. Definitely not enough of a concern to return it. Slumlove provides jobs and education for people living in the Kibera slum in Kenya, the largest urban slum in Africa. I’ve been following their brand for a while now, and finally decided to order this beautiful sweater.
The scarf is old, it has no tag but I think I got it at Nordstrom (?). The jeans are old as well, from Abercrombie.
The bag – if you can believe it- I scored on Poshmark for $25. It’s a Lemur bag, designed in Denmark of vegetable tanned leather. I love how minimal it is, and that it has a pocket to easily slide your phone in and out.
The necklace is Windblown Jewelry, and it looks like a smile! It also has no clasp, so it’s effortless to wear. Windblown Jewelry is made in Raleigh, NC.
Lastly, the perfume is Pharmacia, from Anthropologie. It’s not a brand I could find out much about – anyone more familiar? It does smell amazing (vanilla).
I’ve been reading the new Fashion Revolution magazine, Loved Clothes Last. It’s all about how to take better care of your clothes, and I highly recommend it! It has been a good companion while I’ve been on the mend. One thing I’ve been doing to take better care of my clothes is handwashing more of my pieces. I bought a bin at Target and just mix a little Woolite with cold water. It’s sort of messy and time consuming, but worth it to take care of my things.
The necklace is my Windblown necklace, obviously, and the bandana is Ozma of California. I seriously love their clothes, from their linens to washed silks. They feel sooo good! The bandana I have is the adobe color. I also own their kimono wrap top in natural washed silk, which I showed in my last post.
Last but not least, have a few great pieces for sale in my Poshmark closet – this rag & bone leather vest, and this new with tags Coccinelle bracelet. Hoping they find good homes where they’ll be used and loved!
Wishing you all a joyous and healthy holiday.
xo, Kellie
