One of the best parts about blogging is that I get to discover so many amazing brands who I ordinarily may not have. Blogging helps you to create a lot of great connections, which is especially valuable when it comes to finding out about newer ethical brands worthy of our support.
One such brand that I’ve had the pleasure of discovering recently is 337 BRAND.
337 BRAND makes sustainable basics and athleisure designed to make you feel at ease. I love that the brand was founded in and produces its goods local to me in New York City.
The best and most admirable thing about 337, though, is this brand’s mission to strive toward circularity in all of its products. You can learn more about what this means in my post, “Why We Need Circular Fashion.”
Founder Jessica explains, “After years of designing in corporate fashion, I noticed the tremendous amount of waste generated throughout the process. This includes excess sampling, materials, trims, shipping and more. Though this is the norm for the industry, I did not want to believe it is also the future. With a strong belief in giving back and taking care of the planet, 337 BRAND was relaunched to focus solely on becoming a sustainable brand. I refuse to fall into the same pattern of waste but instead become a brand with a positive impact on the environment.”
I got to give the Lumi crop in almond heather a spin (thank you, 337!), and this shirt is seriously comfortable. It is made of organic cotton and bamboo rayon, and has a stylish, slouchy fit, making it perfect for both a casual walk or dressed up with jeans. With a small wardrobe, it’s so important to have clothing that does double-duty like this.
Since you all have seen me in jeans enough though, I thought I’d take some photos of this top on a walk through downtown, thanks to the help of my friend Alexandra Szebenyik Photography (@thesandraeffect).
I wore my Lumi crop with a pair of older leggings from my wardrobe and the Veja bastille sneaker. I chose to wear a conventional bra since we weren’t doing any crazy fitness activities (minus the jumping which was DIFFICULT – ha!), nor dressing up, and I wanted to keep that comfortable vibe going. That said, this top looks great with a sports bra or strapless bra underneath as well.
337 Brand makes a lot of other easy pieces that are sustainable and affordable, as well. Some of my favorites include the Melia Crop top, which is made of recycled polyester and upcycled cotton, and the Sage sweatpant which has a similar composition.
The team there has been kind enough to offer a discount to my readers. So, if you’re looking to add some comfy clothes to your closet, use code WHOLEHEARTEDWARDROBE15 for 15% off your 337 BRAND purchase.
And, if you want to feel especially good about a decision to buy from 337, for every order, the 337 team donates one dollar to One Tree Planted, which helps areas impacted by deforestation. Every dollar plants one tree.
As a side note, I feel like I’ve been doing a lot of brand profiles lately, which I love because it is always fun to get to talk with inspiring founders who want to make a change in the fashion industry. But, I do have some other more topical posts I’m working on, and even some downloadables! Thought I’d give those a try and also want to make sure I offer you guys a good amount of variety in my content.
Hope you all have a fantastic (and comfortable) weekend.
xx
Kellie
