As it gets chillier here in the Northeast, and as I wear my capsule more and see what is working and what isn’t, I’ve made a few changes to my picks that I wanted to share with all of you!
Also, a big thank you to Facebook and Instagram for being down all day so that I actually sat down and prioritized this short blog post. Has everyone else also been super productive today?
I have made three capsule changes to my original list – two are swaps, and one is an addition! Excited to tell you a bit more about the pieces I selected and the decisions behind them.
Addition: VETTA Capsule Button-Fly Culottes in Khaki
While I feel great about my two pairs of jeans and two pairs of black pants in my capsule, and they have been very functional, I will be attending an in-person management meeting for work this month! So, I did need to add another pair of pants (or skirt, more on that later) to my wardrobe that worked for professional wear, which I didn’t originally anticipate. I obviously have some pants I already own that I could have included, but to be honest…I have been thinking about these pants, and it is fun to have something exciting to feel great in for my first in-person meeting in a long time! They fit great and I think I’ll wear them a lot. I ordered my usual size.
Swap: Jenni Kayne Layering Tank in Ivory
I swapped this in for my Imogene + Willie Vintage Racerback Tank, which was always my plan. I love the Imogene + Willie tank, but it is not bra friendly. And it is cold out now. You get the idea.
Swap: ABLE Rose Relaxed Sweater Tunic (KELLIEH20 for 20% off your ABLE order, by the way.)
I love this slouchy, 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton striped sweater from ABLE. It looks so classic with my black ponte pants or denim, and is so comfortable! I swapped it in for the Anthropologie Sweater Vest, which I absolutely hated on myself no matter what I did to style it – I shared this at length on Instagram, haha! I tried the vest styled in a classic way with my black ponte pants and pumps, which I actually didn’t take photos of, and in a trendier way with denim and Dr. Martens, but it just didn’t feel “me” no matter how I wore it. I’m glad I tried it out, but I’m also glad I’m confident enough in my own style to know when something isn’t working, even if it is a trending item for the season.
I did order a skirt in addition to the culottes to see what I liked better for work, but it has been lost in transit indefinitely and I think the pants are the keeper for the capsule. But I do like the skirt, and I accidentally shrunk my ribbed skirt in the wash over the summer, so I hope this one fits and works out when it arrives regardless.
All for now! Hope you enjoyed this capsule update. Talk to you soon!
xx
