Today, I’ve decided to talk a bit more about the focus of this blog.
This is not a fashion blog – it’s a blog about fashion, and living more purposefully.
So, what’s the difference?
I will write about outfits and products, sometimes. But my intent isn’t to promote that people go out and purchase loads of sustainable/eco-friendly/conscious clothing, because that’s really antithetical to what this is all about. If you need something because it fills a gap in your wardrobe and I can offer some suggestions, that’s awesome! Otherwise, it would just about consuming more stuff.
I’m more focused on discussing how I pared down my wardrobe, how I wear things I already own and mix them with more conscious choices and how embracing this whole lifestyle has made me feel. I’m also interested in sharing some things I’ve learned about sustainable fabrics, keeping your clothes organized and making it simpler to get dressed in the morning.
I wouldn’t advocate that anyone go out and rebuild their wardrobe to be entirely sustainable – because that level of consumption and wasting what we already own is impractical at best and irresponsible at worst.
My hope is this simply inspires you, the next time you need a sweater, or a pair of jeans, or a t-shirt, to remember that there are a lot more options out there than you might realize. Options you can feel really good about purchasing and wearing! Conscious clothing choices are attainable, and I just hope more people will consider these choices before they click “Add to Cart” on a $5 shirt ever again.
Looking forward to sharing more and learning with all of you.
My shoes are Nisolo, my clothes are long-loved items from my closet.

I appreciate how the focus is about sharing ideas rather than saying “buy this particular thing”. I feel like we have a similar approach to blogging about “fashion”/not fashion.

Thanks so much Michelle! I think it’s so important that we be able to distinguish between being interested in fashion and sharing a mix of ideas, versus just writing about products (like a lot of blogs do, and that’s fine, but it isn’t right for me). I just followed you, I agree that we seem to have a lot in common when it comes to style.
