My first week of my January-March capsule wardrobe is complete! The first week is always the easiest, so I didn’t put together any wildly creative outfits, but I really enjoyed the process of getting dressed with a more streamlined closet. I genuinely forgot how simple capsule wardrobing makes my life.
While I’m posting my outfits to Instagram every day, I wanted to also keep track of them here on my own platform.
I’m still deciding on those few items in question plus any last additions mentioned in my previous post, but that wasn’t so relevant this week. I think it’s better to wait to make any additions until I see what is working well and what isn’t working so well in my capsule.
Monday
I really love this outfit. It was simple, but felt cozy and put together for a Monday.
Capsule items: wool& Rowena Swing Dress in Black; Jenni Kayne Waffle Hooded Sweater Coat in Oatmeal
Accessories: Ankle Boots (old), Faire Collection Luna Earrings in Mother of Pearl; Vrai Diamond Solitaire Necklace
Tuesday
This outfit was just okay for me. I like all of the elements individually, but it bothered me that the neutral tones didn’t match more closely and cohesively.
Capsule items: Tradlands Wool Blend Shirt Jacket in Natural (gifted); Madewell Slim Demi Boot Denim
Accessories: Imogene + Willie Beanie; Abercrombie & Fitch Belt; Mejuri Charlotte Bold Hoops; Vrai Diamond Solitaire Necklace; Ankle Boots (old)
Wednesday
This outfit felt a little “corporate” for me, but I think I like it. I wasn’t having the greatest hair day (in my opinion) which I think affected how I felt about the outfit in general. But I absolutely love this top, it’s one of the more fun items in my capsule!
Capsule items: ABLE Cheetah Puff Sleeve Blouse; Elizabeth Suzann Florence Pants in Black Silk Crepe
Accessories: Mejuri Charlotte Bold Hoops; Mejuri Bangle (gifted); Vrai Diamond Solitaire Necklace; Ankle Boots (old)
Thursday
I did not get dressed on Thursday / focus on my capsule due to the attack on the U.S. Capitol.
Friday
Hands-down my favorite outfit of the week. I love the dark sweater paired with the light pants, which feels unexpected. It was also so comfortable. It was the clear winner on Instagram, too!
Capsule items: Tradlands Shelter Cardigan in Storm (gifted); LEZÉ the Label Kendal Pant
Accessories: Vrai Diamond Solitaire Necklace; St. Agni Studio Woven Mules (similar here)
Saturday
I loved this comfortable outfit for Saturday! The graphic tee is new to my wardrobe for another casual option, and the duster was also purchased recently, secondhand. This was my second favorite outfit of the week.
Capsule items: Sézane EPS Tee; Madewell 10-Inch High Rise Button Fly Denim (old, similar here); Eileen Fisher Duster (secondhand, similar here)
Accessories: Mejuri Charlotte Bold Hoops; Allbirds Sneakers
Hope you enjoyed this recap! Looking forward to another week of capsule experiments.
