As you can see, I’m trying to blog my outfits a bit more! I’m feeling a little bit of fatigue with Instagram, as we all do sometimes, and it has always been nice to have my little space here to write when I feel like mixing up my day-to-day posting.
Today I’m wearing a raw silk top from Only Child (purchased a couple years ago) and navy silk Florence pants from Elizabeth Suzann that I bought before they closed, which was (and is) very sad to me. They had so many items on my list of “someday” closet investments, and were a brand that stood for so many values I admire. I bought these pants and the artist smock in black (at the expense of my credit card statement) at the end of April, and so now that’s the end of an era, except for the resale market.
My shoes are Eileen Fisher (secondhand, similar here) and so comfortable! My wooden earrings are from Vrai, from a few years ago. I was wearing a different outfit and spilled my latte on it, but I think things worked out okay on the style front for today, in the end.
Lost in thought over my spilled caffeine.
I love the movement of these pants and how comfortable they are, and the wide waistband makes it easy to french-tuck or tuck shirts in. All that said though, I’m actually not sure that navy is my best color, and I’m glad I also have these pants in black from a past purchase. I would consider navy a neutral, and some days I like it, but some days I also find it challenging to wear. Maybe it’s because I feel like white is my only color option to wear with navy, since I don’t wear any of its complementary colors. In contrast, when I wear black, camel, gray, white…they feel more interchangeable with one another. Maybe I also don’t look great in navy. I’m genuinely not sure if my hesitation is because it is challenging to wear and I don’t have a lot of items that go with it, or if it just isn’t my color. Maybe I’m overthinking it because the spilled matcha threw off my morning.
The movement, drape and feel of these pants really can’t be beat, however.
Anyway – that’s all for now! I hope you have a great day, sans any spills.
